Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Scope
This policy applies to the New Toy Software website and our applications, including new applications we release. If an application has additional or different data practices, we explain them in an application-specific privacy notice linked from that application and this policy.
If you email New Toy Software or join an email list, we use your email address to respond to you or send the updates you requested.
You can stop receiving requested updates by using an unsubscribe option provided in an email or by emailing contact@newtoysoftware.com. Withdrawing from an email list does not affect your use of our applications.
Purchases
For applications purchased through the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase and payment information under Apple's privacy policy. New Toy Software does not receive your payment card details from Apple.
Local Audio and MIDI File Processing
Our local file-processing features work on files you choose on your Mac, including supported audio and MIDI files. Analysis, conversion, editing, and output creation for these features take place on your Mac. Your file contents are not uploaded to New Toy Software or an external processing service by these features, and these features do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking.
This includes daBEAT's audio and MIDI tempo workflows and sndBOX's audio playback, waveform display, tempo analysis, conversion, effects, and export. sndBOX processes the audio files and related metadata you choose locally; it does not upload your recordings for processing.
sndBOX may create temporary local audio copies for playback preparation, SD2 recovery, loops, previews, and export. These copies are removed when no longer needed during normal operation. At startup, sndBOX also checks for abandoned copies it can safely identify; copies in inaccessible or unverified locations may remain. Your original files and saved exports are not removed by this cleanup.
Files, output copies, and application settings stored locally remain under your control; you can remove local files using the normal tools on your Mac. Files you choose to send to support are handled as described below.
Support
If you contact support, we may use the information you provide, such as your macOS version, app version, and issue description, to troubleshoot and improve our Software.
If you choose to send a diagnostic report, screenshot, or sample file, we use it to investigate your request. Please include only information you want to share for that purpose.
Retention and Deletion
We retain support correspondence and any files you send only for as long as reasonably necessary to address your request and related follow-up. We retain an email-list subscription until you unsubscribe. We may retain limited information when needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain necessary business records.
You can request deletion of information you have provided to New Toy Software, or withdraw consent for optional communications, by emailing contact@newtoysoftware.com. We will delete information that is no longer needed, subject to the retention reasons above. Deleting information held by Apple is handled through Apple's privacy tools; local files on your Mac remain under your control.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when our practices change and revise the date above. If an application introduces different data handling, such as an online service or data collection, we will explain that handling in this policy or an application-specific notice before introducing it and request consent where required.
